Question: How much hype can Game of Thrones build by only showing about 4 minutes of content between two trailers?
Answer: Quite a bit, as it turns out.
Game of Thrones’ second trailer has arrived, and thankfully, it’s completely devoid of any spoilers. Instead of telling viewers what will happen, it instead allows us to guess what will happen in the upcoming season, which looks set to be focused almost exclusively on the war between Daenerys and Cersei.
Set to Ramin Djawadi’s excellent score The Light of the Seven, the new trailer raises the stakes and the excitement. The music choice is interesting in itself, given that it was previously used for the destruction of the Sept of Baelor. Will this season have the same progression: starting off promising, including a creeping sense of dread, and ending with the horrific deaths of countless characters? (Probably. This is Game of Thrones after all.)
With the new trailer comes a new set of questions viewers will want answered when Game of Thrones returns on July 16. How will the remaining 13 episodes of the series play out?
