Now is the time for Spider-Man. Having seen his new suit debut just yesterday, Looper have unveiled some more details about the shoot that formed the backdrop to that leak. The photots that hit the net featured one of the two key scenes filmed that day, and which both reveal a surprising location for part of the film’s plot.
Apparently, the scenes in question took place in Washington DC as Peter Parker and his classmates go on a school trip. Presumably something goes wrong while they’re there, as the second scene features Tom Holland in full Spidey suit chasing a truck. We know that was also set in Washington thanks to the licence plates on vehicles on set.
This is quite a surprise considering how closely Spider-Man films are tied to New York City. But any setting that allows for Spidey to swing through the air chasing a truck has got to be a good thing after Civil War debuted his stunning in-air physics.
Could this be the opening sequence of the film, and the rumoured introduction of the secondary villain? it would be the kind of set-piece Marvel like to open with, and having it set away from New York would also seem to fit for an opening scene too (because it’s unlikely the plot is going to include a key diversion to DC).
